Extracurricular Activity (2020)

An entry for the January 2020 Game Level Challenge on Sketchfab.

The idea itself is a syncretic mishmash of various ideas and inspirations I have floating around in my head. Heavy influnced by the fact that I was playing Pamali (an Indonesian horror game) during the time the competition was held. I originally envisioned the scene with a third person player character, but scrapped it when I realized it would require quite a bit more effort to create within the alotted timespan. I did put a certain character in the scene eventually however.

I'm quite satisfied with how the project turned out, and even learned a few things from the process that could be applied to future work.

UI elements were hand drawn, cleaned up, then inverted in Photoshop. They were then placed on a plane that is rendered with translucency and emission.

The pocong model. The sheer wonkiness of the face did not escape me. I was shooting for a disconcerting look, but eventually decided that it did not have to look good since it was to be placed further away from the camera anyway.
